About The Project
Smart parking system is a digital solution to solve burdened parking issues. Increased living standards and accelerated industrialization demanded an incredibly large number of parking spots in urban areas. A fast-growing economy and an explicitly expanded number of cars on the streets gave us an idea to design a project. With the help of this project, people will have an opportunity to find free slots in different parking spaces. With the simple scheme, people will be able to book the spot in advance.
Why?
With the rapid rise of population, there is continuous growth in the private vehicle ownership. Demand for parking areas rises but the city fails to provide the adequate number of on and off-street parking. Non-availability of enough parking space made us want to create a project, which will help citizens to easily find the nearest parking slots and help the city to manage traffic.
How?
We created an IoT server that connects the web application to devices in the parking spaces. In parking
spaces, we installed several sensors that can detect distance between sensor and object, cameras to
monitor your parking lot and to detect license plates.
